Harvest Hustle Could End in Dunk Tank for Principals

Administrators volunteer to get wet if fun run's registration rises.

Mendham Borough’s annual Harvest Hustle 5K and Kids Fun Run is set for Oct. 5, and for the students of Hilltop and Mountain View schools, there’s more than just some exercise on the line.

Both of the schools’ principals, David Heller and Charles Seipp, have tested their students this year, and the result could be a memory to cherish forever.

If the Harvest Hustle can bring in more registrants than last year, both administrators will enter the dunk tank at Mountain View’s eighth grade fair, which is held immediately after the race, according to the organizing committee.

Both men will be running in the event as well.

The 5K and Kids’ Fun Run is hosted by the Mendham Borough Home and School Association (H.S.A.) to raise funds for health and wellness initiatives in the borough’s schools and commemorates late police Sgt. Richard Morales. The event also supports a scholarship fund created in his name, the organization said.
