Mendham Native Continues Education Expansion in Nepal

Maggie Doyne took some time away from Kopila Valley to enjoy home, raise funds.

She considers herself a 'mom' of some 40 kids at an orphanage halfway around the world.

But for the last few months, Mendham native Maggie Doyne spent time at home in northern New Jersey trying to catch up on some rest and always-welcomed fundraising, according to newjerseyhills.com.

Doyne, who founded the Kopila Valley Primary School in Nepal when she left Mendham after graduating Mendham High School, recently received an award at the Forbes Women's Conference for Kopila Valley's excellence in education, the report said.

As she returns to the foreign land that is now her home away from home, Doyne will help oversee the expansion of the school in the building of a high school, newjerseyhills.com reported.
