POLL: Bridgegate a 'Footnote' by 2016, Christie Says – Do You Agree?

Governor tells CBS News scandal won't have impact on political future.

He's told the media, the residents of New Jersey, and anyone else willing to listen that he had nothing to do with a major traffic scandal that brought motorists to a standstill on the country's busiest bridge for days.

Now Governor Chris Christie is dismissing the Bridgegate scandal that has left his administration in tatters, saying the entire ordeal will be just a "footnote" on his political career when 2016 rolls around.

Christie, in Washington, was addressing CBS News' Bob Schieffer at a conference when the journalist asked him about the scandal's impact on his political career, as well as a potential bid for the White House.

Do you think Christie is dismissing the scandal by saying it'll be a footnote two years from now? Do you agree with the governor's assessment of the impact Bridgegate will have on his political future? Let us know in the comments below, and vote in our poll above.
