Three-Vehicle Collision on Route 206 Hospitalizes Two

Teen had to be extricated from his car; wreck under investigation.

Two motorists were hospitalized Wednesday evening after a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Route 206 and Furnace Road in Chester Township.

A 17-year-old Elmwood Park teen made a left turn in his 2002 Toyota Corolla onto Route 206 North from Furnace Road and was hit by a 2005 Chevy Tahoe driven by Laura Spilatro, 57, of Far Hills,  Lt. Thomas Williver said.

The impact caused the Elmwood Park teen to collide with a northbound 2006 Jaguar driven by William Reinhardt, 54, of Long Valley, who was waiting to make a left onto Furnace Road, Williver said.

The Elmwood Park teen had to be extricated from the Toyota by the Chester Volunteer Fire Squad.

He and his passenger, Case Chun, 18, of Elmwood Park, were transported to Morristown Medical Center for treatment, Williver said.

The cause of the accident is being investigated by Cpl. Christopher Cavanagh, and police declined to release further details.
