5 Food Businesses Obtain ‘Gold’ Health Inspections

Schools and nursing homes also obtain highest health rating.

Not a single business or company in Mendham or Chester up for a health inspection in 2013 failed, as a dozen locations between three towns received gold satisfaction ratings.

According to the Bernards Township Health Department, which inspects the health standard levels in Mendham Borough, Mendham Township, and Chester Borough, schools, businesses, and restaurants alike all passed their inspections this year.

  • Starbucks Coffee Company, Inc. (Chester)
  • The Sweet Spot Bake Shoppe (Chester)
  • Back to Nature Health Food (Chester)
  • Daytop Village (Mendham Borough)
  • Mendham Elementary School (Mendham Borough)
  • Holly Manor Nursing Home (Mendham Borough)
  • Sisters of Christian Charity (Mendham Borough)
  • West Morris Mendham High School (Mendham Borough)
  • Lincoln Ice Cream (Mendham Borough)
  • Mendham Township Elementary School (Mendham Township)
  • Mendham Middle School (Mendham Township) 

The dates of the inspections are throughout the year, according to the records. A “Satisfactory Gold” is the highest rating a business can receive, after satisfactory, conditionally satisfactory, and unsatisfactory.

All Mendham and Chester Borough businesses obtained satisfactory ratings in 2012.
