Photos: Chester Cops Embark on Police Unity Tour
Members of the Chester Township Police force rode out of town as part of the annual Police Unity Tour honoring police officers who have died in the line of duty.
Chester Township Police Chief Wayne Martini was on hand during a rainy Wednesday morning to see off Lieutenant Tom Schmieder and Sergeant Ed Noonan as they pedaled out of the Ramada on Route 10 in East Hanover to join the national Police Unity bike tour, a weeklong cycling event that honors police officers killed throughout the country. The primary purpose of the Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty. The secondary purpose is to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial and Museum. The tour will last until next Tuesday, when thousands of officers from across the country will roll to a stop at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.…
