This is news? Even if it were, the game was yesterday and over by mid-afternoon. We lost yet thisRead More still appears in the main news column. Doesn't anybody monitor this site and try to keep it timely? One thing's for sure, if I want to know what the weather was last week I can probably find it in breaking news on Patch.

Can't wait to see this commercial. It will probably feature Eli Manning walking into a DunkinRead More Donuts, and the contest winner saying something like, "Hey, look! It's Eli Manning of the NY Giants! He likes Dunkin Donuts too."

Parents ruin sports..
sportsnut July 14, 2014 at 07:39 am
Alan I agree. Parents coach to get their kids and kids friends a leg up. Kids are choosen too basedRead More on parents and kids being friends. Take AAU and All-Stars and positions in each sport. Parents coach because they want their kid in prime positions, kids are friends with certain kids or because a family does not like someone but the kid has talent not playing. You need "out of area" coaches to come and determine if a kid is "that good" to be at the next level not "locals" whom coach because that is the only way the kid will get playing time.
CowDung July 23, 2014 at 10:20 am
sportsnut: Seems like a perfect opportunity for you to get involved in coaching... If nothingRead More else, becoming a coach will give you a voice in the league to lobby for equal playing time for all kids, and rotation of positions--particularly at the lower levels.

I think there are way more pressing matters in MHS than this...but good for them
Martin April 30, 2014 at 10:21 am
It is completely unsanitary to reuse athletic uniforms for that long, even if you discount the otherRead More positive aesthetic and performance attributes. The kids who play deserve better and to be honest, $15,000 to equip a football team with uniforms is very reasonable, as this is what most Little League Baseball teams spend annually on uniforms. I have no idea about the financial side of running MHS, but from my short experience, the athletic side of things in terms of both facilities and equipment seems to be severely lacking. I know that education is most important, but both academics and athletics are part of the experience, and many other schools seem to be able to support both adequately.
