The department protects approximately 5,000 people living in an area of 6 square miles and responds to an average of 150 calls each year for emergencies such as fires, water rescue, car accidents, and much more. The mission of the Mendham Fire Department is to provide the safest fire protection, emergency medical assistance and education to its members, residents and the general public at no charge.

I had the pleasure and honor of serving with the men and women of the Mendham Borough Fire Department (Station 18) a few years ago before moving south. The caliber of their service is unprecedented. Their response times are unheard of in small volunteer departments and are sure to make it to any emergancy quickly, while providing a service that can't be beat. Their members train, day in and day out, even if it means being away from their families. The pride and dedication shown for their community and fellow firefighters is, without a doubt, what sets them apart from other fire companies. If you are worried about fire safety and response times, move to Mendham Borough for peace of mind! When it comes to your safety they are willing and ready to help you even though their lives can't be gauranteed. A top-notch department Mendham should be proud of.
