St. Joe’s Youth Group Heads South to be ‘Good Neighbors’

Nearly 60 volunteers spend early part of summer break building and repairing homes in Kentucky, report says.

A total of 43 high school students  and 15 chaperones from St. Joseph’s Church in Mendham went south recently to help build and repair homes for those in need.

The group of volunteers headed to Johnson County, Kentucky to help Jason Benedict of the Good Neighbors organization, according to The Paintsville Herald.

The volunteers were split up across six different work sites during their time in Kentucky, the report said.

Good Neighbors is a non-profit organization that specializes in helping families get back on their feet in a time of need, the report said.
