Chester Man Uses Illness to Help Students Become Stars

Years' worth of dialysis equipment boxes become stage props for Cerebral Palsy students.

Brian Dreisbech has kidney disease, but rather than take pity on himself, he puts his time and treatment to good use.

Dreisbach has been treating himself with at-home dialysis since 2011, according to a report on newjerseyhills.com. He’s also used those treatments to help students where he works.

The rehabilitation technician at Livingston’s Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey Horizon High School has brought in his dialysis boxes to use as stage sets and props for the student’s annual school play, the report said.

Dreisbach not only assists with the stage pieces, he helps with photography, makes his own jewelry, toys, and other wood working, the report said.

The Chester resident lives in town with his wife and 19-year-old son.
