Mendham Native Named Collegiate All-American in Women’s LAX

Kelsey Shannahan becomes 30th Stonehill College player to be recognized nationally.

Talk about a season to remember.

Kelsey Shannahan, a senior midfielder for Stonehill College women’s lacrosse team, was named a third team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association, the school announced.

Shannahan hails from Mendham and graduated Morris Catholic four years ago. She’s the 30th player in Stonehill’s history to receive All-America honors.

On top of the national honor, the first of Shannahan’s career, the senior garnered first team All-North Region honors after starting all 19 games for the squad and leading the team with 63 points – 50 goals and 13 assists.

Shannahan was also a Division II and NE-10 All-Rookie team member as a freshman. Her career totals include 118 goals and 41 assists. Another highlight of her career was scoring at least one point in 44 straight games dating back to her freshman season.
