Mendham Draws Top Seed in Halverson Cup Tournament

Minutemen seek third championship in six years and second in a row.

Winning more than 68-percent of your games has its perks, like grabbing the top-seed in the annual Halverson Cup tournament.

That’s where Mendham High School stands this week in the group of six teams, as it hopes to successfully defend its 2013 division championship. Mendham has a first round bye, and will next play on Thursday at Mennen Arena in the tournament’s semifinals.

Mendham will face the winner of Tuesday’s West Morris Central vs. Mountain Lakes game. Those teams are seeded four and five, respectively. Mendham’s game time is set for 4:15 p.m. Thursday.
