3-Sport Mendham Star Gets Countywide Baseball Recognition

Joe Beneducci's impressive batting average puts him among area's best.

Joe Beneducci’s senior year was pretty extraordinary, and despite graduating last week, the honors continue to roll in.

Mendham Minutemen’s backstop on the baseball field has been named to the Daily Record All-County Baseball Team, according to the newspaper’s website, being touted as one of New Jersey’s premier catchers.

Beneducci hit a staggering .441 on the season with three homeruns and 17 runs batted in, the report said. He only struck out three times and is headed to the University of Michigan in the fall.

The teen was recently honored by the NJSIAA as one of the top student-athletes in the county at an awards ceremony. Beneducci also played football and basketball during his senior season.
