Nor'easter Knocks Out Local Schools Friday

This will be the sixth school day in the last 10 altered by weather.

For the second straight day all local schools will be closed as a nor'easter pounds New Jersey.

Chester, Mendham Borough, Mendham Township and West Morris Regional school districts announced they would shut their doors Friday just after 8 p.m. Thursday, as a second band of snow and ice – mixed with rare winter lightning and thunder – barreled through the area.

This is the sixth day in the last 10 that the districts have had an altered or closed bell schedule.
