New Chester School Board Member To be Sworn In

Dr. Nathan Treff begins his three-year term tonight.

Five candidates interviewed for the vacant seat on the Chester Consolidated School Board, and in the end, the board selected Dr. Nathan Treff to fill the vacant seat.

Monday night, Treff will be sworn in as part of the regular board of education meeting.

Treff joins the new blood brought in at the reorganization meeting at the beginning of the year, filling the vacancy left by the resignation of Laura Fishman at the end of December.

Fishman's term on the board does not expire until the reorganizational meeting following the 2013 November election and Treff will now be serving out that term.

Treff will begin his board duties almost immediately.

"He will take the oath of office, do some paperwork and start that day," board secretary Mary Jane Canose said.

The Chester Consolidated School District Board of Education meets Monday at 7 p.m. at Chester Borough Hall.
