Twenty Mendham Township Middle School qualified for the State Science Olympiad Tournament in March.

Twenty Mendham Township Middle School students under the direction of science teachers Mrs. Bray and Mrs. Esposito qualified for the State Science Olympiad Tournament, which will be held on March 12 at Middlesex County College.

Approximately forty schools statewide will be competing in study events, building events, and experimental design events. Students spend a great deal of time in school and at home preparing for these competitions, Mendham Township Middle School Principal Patrick Ciccone said.

According to Ciccone, MTMS students qualified for the State competition by earning a fifth place trophy at the Regional Science Olympiad Competition on Jan. 17  at New Jersey Institute of Technology.
