Mendham Borough Shuts Down School Monday

Joins Township, Chester and Regional districts with a Nov. 5 off day.

The decision to shut down school for Nov. 5 was made on Sunday. Mendham Borough's interim superintendent Dr. Thomas Butler sent this message to parents.

Dear Parents,

Due to the power still being out at Mountain View School and safety concerns in the community with downed wires and trees the schools will remain closed for Monday, Nov. 5. A decision as to whether we will be open on Tuesday, Nov. 6 will be made late in the afternoon on Monday. I know all this un-certainty is frustrating but these are simply events out of our control.

I stay in touch with the Police Chief and the neighboring Superintendents on a daily basis to continually get updates. There simply is no information that we can share with you as to when we might expect the conditions to change. The most we can do is take this day-by-day.

Thomas F. Butler
Interim Superintendent of Schools
