Mendham High Student, Chester Teen Wins Congressional Gold Medal
Raja Atluri one of 16 New Jersey students to earn high honor.
Raja Atluri, of Chester, will receive the Congressional Gold Medal on June 19, along with 15 other students from across New Jersey. Atluri is a student at West Morris Mendham High School.
The Congressional Gold Medal is Congress' highest award for youth ages 14 to 23. The Medal recognizes individuals that have committed hundreds of hours to community involvement.
The award ceremonies next week will be hosted by CBS News' Nancy Cordes and Chip Reid. Kate Raftery of the Peace Corps will be the keynote speaker at the event.
