Chester Visioning Project Begins Action With 3 Meetings

David Banisch will oversee three sessions in nine-day period.

The first steps to 2025 begin this month.

That’s the hope of the Chester Visioning Project Team, which has set up three open meetings over the course of nine days between October and November.

The team has been fielding hundreds of responses to surveys from Chester Borough and Township residents after both towns were granted a Sustainable Jersey small grant for their respective Green Teams in 2012.

Green Team volunteers will be working with residents to develop a vision statement that could be used in the future by both towns for addressing sustainable quality of life and community enhancements, according to the team’s website.

The three meetings will be held:

  • Thursday, Oct. 24, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Chester Borough Field House at 107 Seminary Avenue. The purpose of this meeting is to share results and begin writing a vision statement.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 29, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Chester Borough Field House at 107 Seminary Avenue. The purpose of this meeting is to finish the vision statement and write action plans.
  • Saturday, Nov. 2, 10 a.m. to noon at the Chester Borough Council Chambers at 50 North Road. The purpose of this meeting is to review and sense check results, vision, and action plans.

Consultant for the Community Visioning Project David Banisch will facilitate each meeting. Residents are still welcomed to fill out the survey before the meetings by going here.
