Single-Car Crash on Rt. 206 Sends Two to Hospital

Driver's failure to maintain lane results in guardrail crash, police report.

Two people were injured on Route 206 in a single-car crash in Chester Township last week, Lt. Edward Noonan said.

Just before 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 19, Sgt. Ronald Totams responded to a crash on Route 206 North near the Somerset County line, Noonan said.

When he arrived, he found the driver Richard Schuetz, 76, of Forked River, had crossed over the double-yellow line and tried to correct his car’s position, Noonan said. The result was an overcorrection, which forced the car into the guardrail on the northbound shoulder, Noonan said.
