Poll: Are You Fire Proof?

Fire destroys two residences in the region In three weeks.

A few weeks ago, a large overnight fire on in Mendham took the home from a man and his mother. This week, a fire on Woodland Road took a man's life. Although the unseasonably warm winter has in the region, authorities claim those events are not connected.

According to Mendham Township Lieutenant Vito Abrusci, the fires that originated in the homes were unrelated to the weather conditions. Abrusci, who was on hand for both fires and said the Woodland Road responders had a fire hydrant reasonably close to the fire, which allowed for water to be provided quickly without having to wait for tanker trucks from other departments.
