New Sergeant Swearing In Highlights Week Ahead

Corporal Ron Totams to be elevated in rank at Chester Township Council meeting Tuesday.

Hopefully Chester Township police Corporal Ron Totams didn't invest a lot of money in office stationary since his promotion from patrolman in April, as this Tuesday he is going to be sworn in as sergeant for the Chester Township Police Department.

Totams became a member of the Chester Township Police in July of 2000 and according to his supervisors, has been an exemplary officer.

Totams will be sworn in by Lieutenant Tom Williver, as Chief Wayne Martini will be out of town attending a conference.

This promotion is the latest change for the Chester PD who has seen a flurry of retirements, a pair of promotions and the hiring of not one but two new patrol officers in recent months.

Totams had been assigned to the Patrol Division and also fills the role of Range Instructor, overseeing firearms safety and tactics, Sound Enforcement Officer, enforcing sound code ordinances and Domestic Violence Liaison where he assesses domestic violence claims and assists in their resolution.
