Morris County Man Charged With Death by Auto in Roxbury Crash

Landing man struck, killed pedestrian on Rt. 46 in Roxbury, prosecutor says.

A Landing man has been charged with death by auto after his car struck and killed a man on Rt. 46 in Ledgewood Tuesday, Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp announced.

Police responded to 1903 Rt. 46 West in Ledgewood at 6:43 p.m. for a report of a man with injuries who had been struck by a motor vehicle, Knapp said. When police arrived, they pronounced the man dead at the scene, Knapp said.

The victim’s name is currently being withheld.

The vehicle that struck the man was engulfed in flames due to damage from the collision, Knapp said, and the sole occupant of the vehicle was Samuel R. Generelli, 27, of Landing.

Generelli was charged with death by auto is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
