Drunken Driver Naps on Pleasant Hill Lawn, Police Say

Ledgewood woman charged with driving while intoxicated, Chester Township Police said.

A 36-year-old Ledgewood woman was arrested on July 24 after officers found her asleep in her vehicle parked in the middle of a Pleasant Hill resident’s lawn, Chester Township Police said.

According to Lt. Ed Noonan, Sgt. Ron Totams saw Janine Castellano asleep in her car with her brake lights on and the engine running.

After waking Castellano, Totams detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, Noonan said.

Castellano was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to comply with directions of an officer and refusal to submit to chemical testing, Noonan said.

Castellano was released pending an appearance in Chester Township Municipal Court, Noonan said.
