Cops Seek Help in Finding Second Tempe Wick Road Burglar

Up to $10,000 in jewelry stolen from Mendham Township home Tuesday afternoon.

Another man is being sought in a Tempe Wick Road home burglary that took place Tuesday afternoon, and Mendham Township police are asking the public for help.

The burglary occurred just after 1 p.m. Tuesday and was found by a homeowner who returned to her residence to find one of the alleged burglars in her driveway, asking for directions.

A second man is on the loose, however, and authorities are asking for assistance. The man is in his 40s, about 5’7” in height and was possibly wearing a flannel shirt, blue jeans and a baseball hat at the time of the robbery, police said.

He was last seen running down Tempe Wick Road at about 1:05 p.m., and may have been carrying items in his arms like boxes or bags, police said.

The majority of items taken from the home came in the form of jewelry with an estimated value between $8,000 and $10,000.

Police were able to obtain a description from the homeowner of the man asking for directions and the make of his vehicle. He was stopped by New Jersey State Police on Rt. 80 in Parsippany just 20 minutes after the call to police was made.

He was arrested and is currently lodged on $25,000 bail.
