Cops: Mendham Driver Who Struck Pedestrians Careless
Two Budd Lake residents were taken to the hospital after being hit by a car in the crosswalk of the Kings Supermarket.
The Mendham woman who struck a pair of shoppers in the Village Shopping Center on Monday night was cited for careless driving after the incident, said.
According to police, at approximately ten minutes before 8 p.m. on April 23 47-year-old Mendham resident Beth Hegberg struck two pedestrians with her 2008 Mercedes SUV.
A 45-year-old male and 55-year-old female from Budd Lake were struck by the Mercedes operated by Hegberg while in the crosswalk of the Kings Supermarket parking lot.

"The Mendham Borough Police and First Aid Squads were dispatched to the Mendham Village Shopping Center for a report a motor vehicle crash involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian," Mendham Borough Detective Chris Gobbi said.
According to Gobbi, the first responders arrived to the scene with a Brookside firetruck and determined additional medical transport was needed.

"Upon patrols arrival, it was determined that two pedestrians had been struck," Gobbi said.
A shell shocked group of on-lookers watched as the Mt. Olive pair were loaded into ambulances for transport.
"Both were transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries," Gobbi said.
Police said Hegberg was cited for careless driving.
