Chester Twp. Cops, Mayor Honored For Service

2011-2012 awards for leadership and honorable service during hurricane Sandy and beyond.

At the last meeting of the Chester Township Mayor and Council, the Chester Township Police presented their 2011 and 2012 honorable service awards.

Presented by Chief Wayne Martini, the awards recognized officers past and present for their efforts above and beyond the call of duty.

2011 Lifesaving Award

The lifesaving award is presented to those officers whose actions in the line of duty led to the preservation of the life of another.

  • Patrolman Ryan Steckel and (Retired) Det./Sgt. Jon Loprete

Steckel and Loprete's response to a first aid call, which required defibrillator, compressions and rescuse breather, resulted in a resident making a full recovery.

Exceptional Service Award

The Exceptional Service Award is an award which is given for a highly creditable accomplishment that brings public acclaim to the Officer and his/her Law Enforcement profession as a result of training and devotion to duty.

In this case the Exceptional Service Award is being presented to an officer who participated in the Police Unity Tour to raise money for the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C.

In 2011 and for 2012 this award was presented to Lt. Edward Noonan.

Honorable Service Award

The Honorable Service Award is given to officers for creditable act(s) in the line of duty, showing initiative and accomplishment and deserving of praise by the community and to the agency.

In 2011 the Honorable Service Award was presented to:
