Busy Chester Intersection to Become 4-Way Stop

Current two-way stop has seen too many crashes to stay as is, police report.

As of July 1, an intersection in Chester Borough that has hosted numerous crashes in recent years will go from a two-way stop to a four-way stop, Police Chief David Jara announced.

The intersection of Maple Avenue and Seminary Avenue, which currently has two stop signs on either side of Seminary Avenue, will now become a four-way stop and have two stop signs placed on either end of Maple, Jara said.

Signage will be posted by the end of this week alerting motorists of the traffic pattern change.

“The purpose of the traffic pattern change is to prevent accidents from occurring at this location,” Jara said.

The change will take effect July 1.
