Mendham Township police are making the most of their extra work during the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, making numerous arrests just 10 days into the two-week long event.
Police made five arrests on impaired drivers due to alcohol and/or drugs on Mendham Township roadways, Sgt. Ross Johnson said.
On top of that, four separate arrests were made for drug possession during the same period, Johnson said.
“We will continue to utilize extra DUI/DWI patrols during this upcoming holiday week and holiday weekend in an effort to continue to keep the township roads safe,” Johnson said. “As always we ask people to not drink and drive or if you do wish to drink, please utilize a designated driver.”
The campaign’s extra patrols will be in full force through Monday, September 2.
Further information on the nine arrests already made has not yet been released because investigations are ongoing.
