71 Motorists Choose Ticket Over 'Click It' in Chester Borough

Local cops dole out dozens of tickets during national campaign, police report.

Chester Borough police caught dozens of seat belt violators during a 13-day national initiative, and more than 50 other summonses for various violations. 

During the Click It or Ticket campaign in which Chester police were granted funds to support extra patrols on the roadways, 71 tickets were issued for seat belt violations, Chief David Jara said.

Another 52 summonses were issued for violations including speeding, suspended licenses, uninsured motorists and cell phone use, Jara said. One arrest for a felony warrant out of Florida was also made.

The campaign began on May 19 and ran through June 1. A total of 171 stops were made in Chester Borough during that time.
