2 Chester Cops Promoted to Supervisor Positions

Officer becomes Sergeant, Detective becomes Corporal.

The past year has seen some changes for the Chester Borough Police Department, and those adjustments continued this week with two promotions.

Officer Ryan Durkin was officially sworn in as a Sergeant by the borough council Tuesday night after five years with the department. Durkin was promoted from officer, where he was a shift supervisor for his squad.

Joining him in climbing the ranks is Corporal Kristen Cebo, who was elevated from Detective at the same meeting. Replacing her at the Detective position is Shaun Horst.

Both Sergeant and Corporal are supervisory positions, said Chief David Jara.

Jara, who was officially sworn into his post last fall, began with the Chester Police Department in 2009 and was hired alongside Durkin and Cebo.
