1 in Custody, 1 Sought for Mendham Twp. Burglary, Cops Say

A Tempe Wick Road home was burglarized Tuesday afternoon and local agencies continue to search for a possible second intruder.

One person is in custody and another is being sought after a Mendham Township home was burglarized Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Township police responded to a home on Tempe Wick Road for a reported burglary at about 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, Lt. Ross Johnson said. After speaking with the homeowner, police learned she had come home and found a man in her driveway claiming to be lost, Johnson said.

Once the homeowner gave him directions and he left, she went inside and found her house had been burglarized, Johnson said. Once police arrived the homeowner provided a description of the man and vehicle he was driving. That information was shared to law enforcement agencies in the area, and at 1:40 p.m., the vehicle was stopped on Rt. 80 in Parsippany by New Jersey State Police, Johnson said.
