Mendham Man, 67, Loved to Make Others Laugh

Wayne Murphy died Dec. 1 at Morristown Medical Center.

Wayne Murphy spent most of his time making others laugh.

The 67-year-old Mendham resident passed away at Morristown Medical Center on Sunday, Dec. 1, according to his obituary.

Murphy lived in Mendham for 37 years. He was born in Elizabeth and graduated Kean University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration.

He was a plant manager for Sherwin Williams in Newark until retiring in 1997, the obituary said. Murphy then worked as a finance manager at Greco Auto Group in Denville.

He’ll be best remembered for his sense of humor, though, and ability to make others laugh, the obituary said. Murphy was generous and kind, and loved spending time with his family.

Murphy is survived by his wife, daughter, two grandchildren and a niece.
