Master Carpenter Passes Away in Chester Home

Wilson Bell died Monday at age 85.

Wilson E. Bell died peacefully at home in Chester on Monday Oct. 8 at age 85.

Born in Hillside Bell lived in Elizabeth for many years before moving to Chester in 1968.

Bell was a master carpenter and owner of Wilson E. Bell Carpentry in Chester before he retired in 1991. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy B. Bell in 1989.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Bongiorno Bell, their daughter, Emily Bell, Wilson and Dorothy’s son, Brian, and his wife Eugenia Bell of Wantage and their son, Daniel Bell.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main Street in Peapack. Funeral Service will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.  Cremation will be private.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in his memory.
