Chester Resident, Local Employee Dies at 68

Maryann LaPrete spent more than half her life in Chester.

She passed away at her home in town at the age of 68.

LaPrete was born in Jersey City and grew up in Woodbridge before moving to Chester 40 years ago, her obituary said.

She spent more than 30 years as a customer service and dispatch employee for Chester’s Christie Halsey Fuel Oil before retiring in 2009.

LaPrete was an animal lover and avid horsewoman, her obituary said.

She is survived by two sisters, two brothers, and many nieces and nephews.
