Chester Resident, Judge's Wife Dies

Audrey Hyde Thompson died Nov. 30 at 88.

Audrey Hyde Thompson of Chester, NJ and Cotuit, MA, passed away on Nov. 30 at the age of 88.

One of the seven children of Elmer Hyde and Jessie Barber Hyde, Thompson was raised in Belleville and Sea Girt, and graduated Belleville High School and Parsons School of Design in New York. She worked in the fashion industry, and later at her family's surety bond company.

Thompson was the lovingwife of the late Hon. Paul B. Thompson, a judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey and the president of the Mountainside Hospital Volunteer Association. She also enjoyed travel and interior design.

Thompson is survived by her son Paul B. Thompson, beloved granddaughter Meredith Thompson, sisters Margo Plenge and Beth Whittemore, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eleventh Hour Animal Rescue.  Graveside service was private, with arrangements by Bailey Funeral Home.
