Chester Teen Overcomes Cancer to Resume 'Normal' Life

Sarah Stover's 2014 summer break is far different than the one she had in 2012.

Two years ago Sarah Stover was preparing for life in Mendham High School, but a bigger battle landed on her plate.

The Chester teen, now 16, was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma, a type of cancer of the blood that begins in the lymph nodes.

According to newjerseyhills.com, July was the first month since August 2012 that Stover won’t require cancer radiation treatments, and she’s getting back to what she loves most: riding her horse and learning internationally.

Stover will be attending a 15-week program in South Africa, Zambia and Mozambique and plans to compete in dressage competition in the near future, the report said.

The community rallied around Stover during her recovery time, creating 1,000 origami angels through the Morris County Arts Workshop.
