Film, Panel Discussions Addresses Divide Between Children and Nature

The Willow School will present a free showing of a film about bridging the divide between children and nature.

This documentary-style movie explores the powerful role of nature experiences in the health and development of children of all ages. The effects of “nature deficit disorder” are now being noted across the country in epidemics of child obesity, attention disorders and depression. Discussions will focus on ways to get children outside, enjoying nature.

A panel discussion will follow with Dr. Elizabeth Rose, Pediatrician; Tina Miller, Schiff Nature Preserve Environmental Educator; Paul Parker, Willow School Science Teacher; and John Brandi, Willow School Psychologist.
