EDUCATIONAL MINISTRY OFFERED AT THE CHURCH OF THE MESSIAH

Education for Ministry is one of the finest programs in  for spiritual seekers.  It provides participants with a community in which to study and reflect on the scriptures and traditions of the Christian faith.  The program will meet weekly from January to December once a week with a break in the summer.  It is in a seminar forum for two hours.  It will cover the Old Testament in 2013.  It continues for another three years covering New Testament, Church History and current theological issues.  You can commit to just one year at a time.  There is a program cost for materials.

The weekly seminar is divided into two parts:  A review of the reading for the week and a guided theological reflection.  (theological reflection is a thought provoking group exercise that looks at isues of interest to the group from the personal to the global, but will focus on our lives as practicing Christians).

The program is Episcopalian in its roots, but ecumenical in its perspective, and it is open to anyone who is interested, regardless of faith tradition.  You can  find out more at the program's website which is www.sewanee.edu/EFM/intdex.htm.
