Christ Church Short Hills will present its traditional Christmas Eve Pageant service on Monday, December 24th at 4:00 pm.  The annual service features traditional carols sung by the children’s Canterbury Choir and the Christmas Eucharist.

The Christmas Eve pageant is performed entirely by the children of Christ Church Short Hills, who reenact the telling of the Nativity and the birth of Jesus.  The children’s Canterbury Choir sings traditional Christmas carols and holiday musical favorites that celebrate the presence of the angel Gabriel, presentation of gifts by the three Kings, and the welcoming of Jesus in the town of Bethlehem.  Musical performances are under the direction of Dr. Andrew Moore, Choir Master and Organist of Christ Church Short Hills.

Area children who will participate in this year’s Christmas Eve Pageant include:

Schuyler Bunn as Mary; Max Steffen as Joseph; Adelyn Taylor Berg as baby Jesus; Blake Kernen as Gabriel; Richie Carchia, Ben Lee and Brendan Near as the Kings; Caitlyn Dwyer, Caitlin Vinsonhaler and Jessica Carchia as the angels; Edward Johnson, Sam Lee, Peter Carchia, Walker Johnson, Annabella Saccaro, Jack Amarante, Bennett Balady, Drew Bunn and Scott Kernen as shepherds. The nativity story will be narrated by William Johnson and Christy Dwyer.

Christ Church Canterbury Choir members include: Alex Bardello, Grace Bardello, Caroline Davis, Erik Davis, Catherine DeCiantis, Shannon Finan, Annie Lischer, Olivia Malin, Caroline Moore, Anjelica Nwachuku, Christiana Nwachuku, Ava Perry, Greta Reinhardt, Katherine Shea, and Christian Zhou-Zheng.

Cherub Choir members who will sing “Away in a Manager” are: Troy Chastain, Hadden Finan, Maren Finan, Gwen Lischer, and Elise Reinhardt.  Instrumental Ensemble musicians are Olivia Estes, Edward Johnson, Nathan Moore, Caroline Moore, and Catherine Tso.
