BLUE CHRISTMAS SERVICE

Not everyone is cheery during the Christmas season.  The hustle, bustle, parties and joviality of the holidays can be painful if that is not what is in your heart.  The Church of the Messiah will hold a special Blue Christmas Service on Saturday, 12/22/12 at 5:00 pm.  The Reverend Margaret Otterburn says "The Blue Christmas service is about paying attention to the needs of people in our community who are in some kind of pain and need a sacred place for contemplation.  With the emotional roller coaster many people have experienced over the past year--whether from worldly events, health care costs, or economic woes--spiritual time in the midst allows for tranquil reflection in a quiet, candle-lit service providing calm and comfort".

The service also includes Holy Communion.  It will be held at the Church of the Messiah located at 50 Route 513 (old State Route 24), Chester, New Jersey 07930.

The Church of the Messiah is the Episcopal Church serving Chester, Chester Township, Long Valley and surrounding areas.  The church is part of the Anglican Communion, the Episcopal Church USA, and is a parish in the Diocese of Newark.  The congregation offers a faithful, open and welcoming environment to all through service, classes and community events.  The Reverend Margaret Otturburn is Rector.
