St. Bernard’s Advent Series:  READING the BIBLE with NEW EYES:  What Ancient Christian Wisdom and Depth Psychology Can Teach Us

Is the Bible true? is not a very helpful question, and usually leads to polarized disputes about history, literalism, and science.  Better questions about any Biblical passage are What truth is here? How does it touch my life?   This opens up a never ending adventure to discover the many levels of profound moral and spiritual wisdom contained in Holy Scripture.  In this four week Advent series, we will explore how ancient, classical methods of Biblical interpretation from the earliest Christian centuries can give us fresh ways of reading, hearing and applying Scripture to our daily lives and relationship with God.
