4th annual NJ Walks For TS at Mendham

Welcome to the 4th annual NJ Walks For TS at Mendham! This event was developed in 2010 as a collaboration between the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders (NJCTS) and Mendham teenager Emily Carrara to raise awareness for Tourette Syndrome -- an inherited, misdiagnosed, misunderstood neurological disorder characterized by involuntary sounds and movements known as tics that affects 1 in 100 children.

Please stand up and walk the walk by joining NJCTS and scores of youth advocates statewide for the 4th annual NJ Walks For TS at Mendham on Saturday, November 23, at Borough Park in Mendham to promote awareness, acceptance, action and advocacy of Tourette Syndrome and its associated disorders at a day of fun and empowerment for kids, by kids and about kids.

This event will strengthen the statewide education outreach and peer advocacy programs of NJCTS, which supports children and families with TS, ADHD, OCD, anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, Asperger's Syndrome and other neurological disorders.

Registration is $22.50 through October 31 and $25 after that. Registration and check-in begin at 9 a.m. on November 23, with the walk commencing at 10 a.m. Fundraising is an integral part of this event; remember, kids with neurological disorders will benefit!

If you are a team captain, please make sure you sign up yourself as a team FIRST, then get each of your team members to sign up under your team -- not as individuals. You will need to do this on both this registration site and our fundraising site.

Prizes will be awarded for the top fundraising team, top two fundraising individuals and the team creating the best banner for display on walk day. We'll have more information on these awesome prizes as the even draws closer!

So make November 23, 2013, the day you walk the walk and stand up alongside youth advocates for kids with TS and other neurological disorders! It doesn't matter what makes us different when we focus on what makes us strong.
