School Board Candidates to Field Forum Questions Wednesday

First of three sessions to be held at Chester Library.

The campaign trail is officially paved and ready to be traversed, and six candidates for the Chester Consolidated School District Board of Education will take part in the first of three forums Wednesday night.

Carey Curry, Judy Irwin, Amy Collins, Heather Ronco, and Kerry Wright are all vying for three, three-year seats on the board. Nathan Treff is running unopposed for a one-year term. Wright, Ronco, and Treff are all incumbents.

The forum is set for 7:30 p.m. in the Larison Room of the Chester Library. The forum will have two moderators; Chester Borough Councilwoman Janet Hoven, and Patch editor Russ Crespolini asking questions to the candidates. Answers will have time limits.

Each of the three events is being organized and hosted by Citizens for Better Schools (CBS). The second forum, scheduled for Oct. 23, will involve candidates for the Chester representative seats on the West Morris Regional Board of Education.

Questions for the first forum have been submitted to CBS member Charlene Arrington and given to the moderators. If time allows, audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions of the candidates themselves.

The forum is open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.
