Newcomers Eying Votes in Mendhams for June Primary Election

Township's vice mayor won't run for re-election, borough's mayor to run unopposed in June vote.

Voters in Mendham Borough and Mendham Township will be looking at new names on their June Primary Election ballots, as a newcomer in each town is seeking a three-year seat on their respective governing bodies.

Incumbent Republican Brad Badal is seeking re-election on the Mendham Borough council, and will be joined by newcomer John Andrews on the ballot. Councilman Louis Garubo is not seeking re-election.

Mendham Borough Mayor Neil Henry is also up for re-election, but is running unopposed in the Primary.

Over in Mendham Township, just one name will appear on the ballot. Newcomer Diana Orban Brown has filed to run for one three-year term. Incumbent Rob Strobel, also the Township Committee’s vice mayor, did not file for re-election. 

The Primary Election is scheduled for Tuesday, June 3, with the General Election to take place on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Independent and Democratic candidates will be eligible to run in November if they garner enough write-in votes during the Primary Election in June.
