Candidates Set for Regional Board Forum Wednesday Night

Second of three sessions will question three candidates seeking three-year term on regional school board.

The second of three school board candidate forums is set for Wednesday night at the Chester Library, this time with candidates seeking a three-year term on the West Morris Regional Board of Education.

Gary Lakritz, Bruce Sullivan, and Russ Cembrinski will answer pre-selected questions in a forum open to the public beginning at 7:30 p.m. The forum is organized by Charlene Arrington and hosted by Citizens for Better Schools.

Lakritz is a current member of the Chester School District board of education, which serves both Chester Township and Borough. Lakritz ran for a seat on the regional board in 2011 and lost to current representative Marcia Asdal.

In the first forum held earlier this month, four candidates vying for three seats on the Chester school board answered a dozen questions on topics ranging from technology to curriculum.

Current board vice president Heather Ronco and challengers Amy Collins, Judy Irwin, and Carey Curry all spent more than an hour telling residents their thoughts on the myriad questions. Current board president and candidate Kerri Wright was absent during the forum.

Those five candidates are vying for three, three-year seats on the local school board.

Wednesday’s forum begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Larison Room of the Chester Library.
