What Are Your Christmas Eve Traditions?

Share what you do the night before Santa Clause arrives.

Whether you participate in the Christmas festivities or not, there are very few families out there that don't have some tradition tied to the Christmas Eve. Some go out to the movies or to dinner at a special restaurant.

There are many religious observances on Christmas Eve. Protestant churches have held candlelight services, which frequently feature children's choirs and nativity plays. Catholics around the world customarily attend Midnight Mass to usher in Christmas Day.

Many Christmas Eve traditions center around a big meal. Some families do the feast of the seven fishes. Other do the ham with the pineapple glaze.

Another tradition is that of caroling. The carolers would go from door to door with hymns and songs, often receiving hot cocoa, tea, and other treats for their performance.

So do any of these describe what you do on Christmas Eve? Or do you do something else? Play board games? Watch Rankin and Bass specials? Tell us in the comments below.
