A line of five-year-old-girls doing a kickball change dressed like Minnie Mouse. That is always the first memory I (Russ Crespolini, editor of Mendham-Chester Patch) have when I think of Dance Studios.
The Minnie Mouse I was focused on was my sister, Rose Crespolini, and she was in her first recital with the Art of Dance which was being held at Randolph High School.
"Minnie the Mouse! Thats what they call me at MY house!" Were the lyrics they screamed/sang. "I like to eat, and cheese is my favorite dish!"
In the ensuing quarter century since this event, the casual dance studio has grown, evolved and developed. Shows like Dancing With The Stars have become immensely popular (Long Valley Patch Editor Jason Koestenblatt never misses an episode) and have infused new life into the industry of ballroom and recreational competition dancing.
At the same time, shows like Dance Moms caution folks about the perils of choosing the wrong school for your child.
So we want to know, who has the best dance studio in the area? We're talking about professional settings, qualified teachers and realistic expectations for students. Also, who is reasonable about their tuition prices as well.
This week's Readers' Choice has combined the offerings in both Long Valley, the Chesters and Mendhams, and this article will be posted on Long Valley and Mendham-Chester Patch throughout the week.
Here's a list of dance studios we're asking readers to vote on:

Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor(s), based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.
Voting in the poll below is open until 9 a.m. Friday. Ties will be broken by whichever business has the most positive comments and reviews. We will announce the winner at noon Friday.
