Are You a Cat or a Dog Person?

Choose a side.

This week our question asks for a little soul searching. We want to know if you consider yourself a cat person, or a dog person.

And none of this fence-sitting "I love them both" nonsense. We want that visceral response.

"Coke or Pepsi!"

"Kraft or Velveeta!"

"Vanilla or chocolate!"

"Left side of the bed or right side of the bed!"

"Cat person or dog person!"

According to the American Pet Products Association, 62 percent of U.S. households have pets. Of those homes with pets, 39 percent have dogs and 33 percent have cats. Studies on the APPA site show that pet ownership can be a learned behavior, as people gravitate toward the animals they grew up with.  Parents tend to have dogs that kids can take outside, while older people and singles are more likely to have lower-maintenance animals like cats.

Some studies also suggest this choice is a touchstone to your personality, and you might find yourself gravitating towards those who make similar choices.

So which are you? Tell us in the comments below and tell us why!
