25th Annual Tree Lighting In Chester Sunday

Music, refreshments and more planned for silver anniversary of the festive event.

Annual Chester Tree Lighting is celebrating 25 years of lighting up the town and marking the official start of the holiday season. The event is planned for Sunday, Dec. 2 at the Gazebo on Main Street.

The program is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. and includes musical entertainment by West Morris Mendham Concert Band under the direction of Tim Beadle.

Also featured will be The Treble Makers, an all girl acapella singing group, under the direction of Patty Danner. The lighting of the tree will be at 5:30 p.m. with Santa arriving courtesy of the Chester Volunteer Fire Company. Each child will be able to visit with Santa and is encouraged to bring their holiday wish list to share.

There will be refreshments provided by Chester Recreation with gratitude to the Chester Garden Club for running the event for 22 years.
